Anyone experienced this as a CHILD? HOW has it been influencing your LIFE,your PERSONALITY,mental health,etc.?

I'm going to ask for a professional advice next week according to an appointment and I'll be there with my both children - I suppose the psychologue doctor shall ask for their presence for the best evaluation in their interest .

BUT I am KEEN to hear any experience u might have.

If any of u can help PLEASE DO it and - very important - let me know your source:

Genuine Experience

OR

your opinion by . . . (reading, other relatives' experience, as a professional, etc.?)

Take the case u were definitely split from the other parent (~seen him/her just for a couple of times for the rest of your life

What have u lived (A, B, or C)?

HOW has been (if any) this fact influencing your LIFE,your PERSONALITY,mental health,future relationships,etc.?

A - When I was a preschooler I was split from my loving OLDER sibling(s) for a long period of time (x-year);

B - When I was a teenager I was split from my loving YOUNGER sibling(s) for a long period of time (x-year);

C - . . .(your case). . .Anyone experienced this as a CHILD? HOW has it been influencing your LIFE,your PERSONALITY,mental health,etc.?C my parents split when I wad ten and my Dad was pretty much absent after that.

My feeling is that you are who you are because of what you have experienced, good and bad. A mental health professional can't really help you overcome the damage done by your past, only to rationalize it so that you may incorporate you experience into a complete psyche.

The primary effect was to make me angry at my father. This unresolved anger has had some effect but I would be hard pressed to say that either I am an angry person or that my anger with my father has made me less loving or more violent. The hardest thing about having these feelings about my Dad is that he has now passed on and I can't talk to him about it.
