Child neglect and suing?

my friend has been threatened by his mother...she can't afford to take care of him so she told him he would have two weeks to figure something out and then she was kicking him out of the house

he is 17

under ohio state law it is considered child neglect if there is threat to a child's health or welfare, which covers this case

but i was wondering if he is able to sue his mom for child neglect?Child neglect and suing?Since he's still a minor, he can't sue his mother. As a minor, however, his mother is obligated under the law to support and care for him until he turns 18. The excuse of she can't afford to take care of him anymore is not a valid one legally. If she kicks himout before his 18th birthday, without providing another stable living arrangement for him, she can be charged with child neglect and he can be placed in the care of the state until he turns 18 or until another arrangement can be made for him. Does he have a father or another relative he can go to for help? If not, and there is absolutely no way his mother can continue to support him ujntil he turns 18, she needs to get help from child protective services. A parent is obligated under the law to be responsible for supporting her child until he turns 18 or becomes emancipated, whether that's convenient for her or not.Child neglect and suing?Hold on a second.



While it is true it IS a child neglect IF the parent actually throws out a 17 year old, considering a lawsuit is entirely a wrong way to approach it.



First of all, what did he do to get this punishment? He must have done awfully bad thing to deserve this. Has he tried to apologize and change his behavior? That'll have to come first. Relying on law every time will gets you nowhere.



Second, I doubt very much that mother will actually carry on with this threat. If she does, all your friend needs to do is call police. They will arrange with child protective services and do the necessary work.



Our society has turned into lawsuit based morality. That is entirely wrong. Law is the last line of defense, not the first.Child neglect and suing?No, he cannot sue for neglect. However, if she throws him out he can go to the police station and they will arrest for child neglect. Child neglect and suing?
after taking care of him for 17yrs, he wants to sure for neglect.....if i were the mom, id kick his butt, then kick him out!!!!
