Where is the best place to live if you have a disabled child?
My son has Cerebral Palsy, and we are having trouble getting him the health care he needs. We want to live somewhere that offers speech therapy, PT, and OT.Where is the best place to live if you have a disabled child?Alberta! Especially if your child has Autism. My son is being checked for Autism, but we do know that he has a severe speech delay, Sensory Integration Disorder, and he is developmentally delayed. We live in Alberta and we have help for him through the PUF funding. He is in a program called GRIT, and it provides him with a developmental specialist for three hours each day., an O.T. and a Speech Therapist. Alot of people are moving to Alberta because its the place to be if your child has disabilites, they have the money here!Where is the best place to live if you have a disabled child?Where are you now? It's impossible to refer you if I don't know where to start!Where is the best place to live if you have a disabled child? My nephew has C.P. and i know what you are going through. It is rough. He goes to therapy about once a week and he has no trouble finding help. As for a nice place to live you have more to look at than just health care for your son. Such as a steady income all around. There are options. If you stay home and take care of him the entire time like my sister does and you do not work you will need some assistance through the goverment. I would recommend signing up for SSI or some kind of assistance. However if you do work, than i would aim for a suburban city with many health and occupational choices.grimaldis
