Given the Catholic Churches unscrupulous conduct in the Child abuse scandal, and record against womens' health?

initiatives, how can they think they can can be taken seriously when they issue these policies?

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/28197514/Given the Catholic Churches unscrupulous conduct in the Child abuse scandal, and record against womens' health? It's a joke, seriously. They expect to be able to dictate ethics with their track record?

Yes, people, school teachers do molest children as well. The difference is that the school authorities report and have them arrested. They don't move the offending teacher to another school and try to hush it up.Given the Catholic Churches unscrupulous conduct in the Child abuse scandal, and record against womens' health?
ah the inmates running the asylum!

Given the Catholic Churches unscrupulous conduct in the Child abuse scandal, and record against womens' health?Stick with the facts:

Priests -about 2%

Public school teachers -about 3.5%

The media exaggerates
catholic people do not abuse their children, just because they are stricter than Christians, doesn't mean that they abuse children and put women's health in question. what are you really talking about?Given the Catholic Churches unscrupulous conduct in the Child abuse scandal, and record against womens' health?School teachers molest lots more children than priests and they're still taken seriously.Given the Catholic Churches unscrupulous conduct in the Child abuse scandal, and record against womens' health?
HUH??? What unscrupulous conduct. The Church has even paid restitution to the victims. What other ecclesiastical group has done the same even though their problem is much worse than among Catholic clergy. The Church provides more medical care for women and children than any group or government. You can't be serious!

In Christ

Fr. Joseph
The Church will be taken seriously but millions and millions of Catholics, in some cases entire populations.

Not every one will pay attention, but a sizable portion of the population of Europe and the Americas will.

To answer your question, they think that they will be taken seriously, because they are right. They will be by a significant number of people.

This is not unusual. many people are staunch supporters of political parties, regardless of the scandalous behavior of some of the members.

It is not fair to judge an entire organization by the behavior of a small percentage of its participants.Given the Catholic Churches unscrupulous conduct in the Child abuse scandal, and record against womens' health?
Because they are a religious faith. America gives far too much credence to "faith values" and other religious values that it has become an excuse for exclusionary principles. As I see it, it's plain prejudice. Nobody's immune from it. Even me. But at least I acknowledge that I am biased.
Please give supporting information for your question.

I am not aware of a RECORD AGAINST women's health. AND the child abuse scandals were dealt with AND are statistically lower then BOTH those in the Protestant and Public school institutions separately OR at the very least.. the same. Anyone one who studies the issue and not the MEDIA will know this.

The 2 biggest insurance companies that insure most of the Non-Catholic christian churches see about as many claims as the Catholic church has dealt with recently. MOST of the Catholic church's offenses happened in the 80s. They paid restitution for them but still that's not enough. Just like the Catholic church's other mistakes.. I'm sure people will be bringing this up for 500 years, at least.

The over whelming facts are that the Catholic church is the largest provider of Health care, food, and education in the World. The Vatican ALONE runs the world's busiest Pharmacy giving steep discounts on medications some of which are not found anywhere else in Italy.

Sounds like you either need to cite your supporting information OR research the issue further.

PLUS, it is a logical fallacy to reject an argument entirely on the basis of the source or the source's past which is not directly related to this exact issue. You should evaluate their position, not reject it because of the source.

Therefore, there record on women's health and child abuse does not invalidate their position on Stem Cell research. The 2 issues are different and being wrong about 1 does not preclude them from being right about the other.

However, IF you disagree with their position on stem cell research..then you should state WHY and not merely attack their past..which actually WEAKENS your argument.

Sounds like you are one of those people who are anti-Catholic no matter what.. so if they said they believed the sky was blue.. you'd probably think it must be a different color.

hehehehhehhe

Just a guess, I don't really know you.
1) why do you care

2) what" women's health issues" -- abortion?!?!? disecting and sucking out the life of a child because they didn't use birth control or keep their leg together before they were ready to have a child?!?!?! the abortions done to save a woman's life are few and far between

the scandals were only as visible due to media frenzy %26amp; some people thinking - deep pockets. there were less of them than teachers or parental/sibling abuse!
