For grownups it is hard work to create a healthy lifestyle. This may be especially so for parents who try to keep track of their kids' food intake. After taking care for more than 5 to 8 (or more) years, these parents are suddenly helpless since society (not all) and govt (not all) don't care enough. Well, how often do you see veggie commercials anyway? Are there any health-conscious restaurant that cater to children?Subway, definitely. They even have apple slices, raisins, and yogurt that you can add to the meals in case the kids start begging for sweets. And McDonald's has done a great job with adding healthier sides to their menu. A plain hamburger Happy Meal with juice and apple dippers instead of soda and fries is a healthy alternative. My 11 year-old niece LOVES the caramel sauce that comes with the apple dippers. I think she actually prefers them to fries. Are there any health-conscious restaurant that cater to children?I'm really glad you asked this. You would be surprised to hear that with the right information and attitude kids are usually capable of making excellent and very wise decisions for themselves. The only problem is their lack of experience makes them capable of being deceived by compulsive desires. They will learn very well if they feel they are trusted.
Now about health, restaurants will cut costs, but so will grocery companies. Restaurants all put a lot of effort into quality of service, and now there are so many health trends that it has become almost a fashion instead of a discipline. You can eat surprisingly healthy at some popular places like chilis, or subway. Even pizza can be decently healthy if you get it with vegetables. Don't be afraid of calories at all when it comes to your kids. Just avoid alot of fried things and candy. Notice I did not say sugar. Occasional desert is fine, but the best kinds are pies and cakes, or anything fruit based.
Muffins, cookies and ice cream deserts are worse for them because they often have a lot of artificial chemicals and hydrogenated oil without other basic nutrients. Fruit (NOT JUICE) in its natural form is the best thing anyone can eat. Feed your kids things with vegetables in them like soups, sandwiches, and casseroles while they are young and they will eat them when they are grown up whether they like them now or not. Don't force it either, because most parents don't know kids have more sensitive taste buds to protect them from toxins, and they cause strong tasting things to be repulsive. Are there any health-conscious restaurant that cater to children?Actually, Wendy's and Subway both have healthy foods options and some are packaged to entice the little ones.
