They are more people die from hunger than poor or no health care.
They are children going to bed hungry cause there parents can't afford to buy food so they can pay there bills.
Wouldn't a homeless man rather have 2 or 3 meals a day than health care from Obama.
If people don't eat enough they get sick.
Bottom line more people in this economy will rather have food than health care.Is it really a moral issue to give every american health care? You are right and a lot of people on this site don't believe it. Here in Houston the homeless shelters are overflowing. Not just with men but whole families. There are a lot of people on the streets sleeping at night, under the underpasses of the freeways, in doorways, parks, alleys, abandoned houses and fields. It is estimated that at least 10,000 people are hungry and on the streets here. Of course some of those people don't want to be anywhere else, but I would challenge anyone to find a child who wanted to sleep in a car or any of the other places homeless people make their homes.
I still believe in an overhaul of the medical system and yes it is a moral issue. The preamble to the Constitution says "We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, etc, etc, etc, 'promote the general welfare' and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity," and so on. I take promote the general welfare to mean to try to make things better for all and your general welfare is not good if you are hungry or sick. You do what you can, when you can and do your best. We do it for people in other countries and for people from other countries coming here both legally and illegally, why not for our own.Is it really a moral issue to give every american health care?
Very few people actually die from hunger in the United States. Every state offers food stamps, welfare, and other aid programs. Churches have food banks where anyone can go and get food as a last resort.
And no, you can't call Obama's health care welfare, which you would be aware of if you had actually read the details of the plan.Is it really a moral issue to give every american health care?giving everyone healthcare sounds like a great thing and on the surface it seems like the MORAL thing to do...
however, when you take away the freedoms of others and force them to adhere to your program your moral objective has just become immoral
you can't make something right by doing something wrong
Health care is something that can be fixed. Hunger is more complicated. If we can give health care to those who need it, why would we hesitate for the sole purpose that there are bigger problems out there? There will always be another issue to worry about. Plus, not passing the health care bill won't magically put food on these people's tables, you know.Is it really a moral issue to give every american health care?Apparently its perfectly fine to give billions to dictators and 20 billion each year in foreign aid to Israel - but when you give a dime to Americans who can't afford health care its government expansion, fascism, socialism, and communism.
Ironic and hypocritical yes I know, I'm against both and if I had to chose I'd rather my money going to Americans than foreign countries any day.Is it really a moral issue to give every american health care?
Not in this country, they don't.
Under the current form of health care in America, we pay more per person than any other country and get a quality of care (infant mortality, surgery outcome, life span) similar to CUBA - a country under embargo.
Why would anyone want to preserve the most inefficient health care in the world?
yes, it is a very big moral issue... If you (or your parents) don't make very much money, then you might not understand.
The people who get FREE healthcare are taking away from the MIDDLE CLASS (RICH people in Obama's point of view) and giving the money that they worked hard for to people who just sit on their butt all day...
I can understand for those who actually CAN'T work, but too many people act like they CAN'T but really CAN
I guess I'm saying that if EVERYONE were to rely on Obama's stupid healthcare plan, it wouldn't be possible, therefore corrupt. Is it really a moral issue to give every american health care?
We have programs to provide food for people who can not afford to buy enough to eat so we are not making a choice between health care and food. More people in the US do not die of hunger and I am not sure than anyone does because of lack of money.
It is a moral issue. Which is exactly why it doesn't belong in government. Democrats love to accuse Republicans of "legislating morality," but that's exactly what all the social programs they support are doing.
"Health care is something that can be fixed. Hunger is more complicated." WOW Lollocop, what flavor kool aid do you drink? Hamburger vs. dialysis ...hmmm....which is more complicated?
Are you proposing Government Food Companies? You know...to compete with regular food companies....heavily subsidized through taxes that only the fabulously rich will have to pay?
yah well gues what they dont care about the poor they care about drug companies you think obama's response would've been any different to new orleans?? you know why it would of been the same because there was nothing anyone could do.
Yes, as an American I feel every other American should have access to our Health Care System.
Diarrhea remains the number one killer of children less than 5 years of age throughout the world.
It's called a homeless shelter, Welfare, Medicaid, and food banks.
hunger can be fixed as well. we presently produce enough food for like 12 billion people, hence fat people everywhere
right to healthcare goes hand in hand with right to life
Through government taxation? No.
Through charitable work and volunteering? Yes.
This isn't about Health Care for Liberals, it's about controlling our lives.
For Ted Kennedy, Nancy Pelosi, Barack obama and Hillary Clinton it is
"MORE PEOPLE DIE OF HUNGER THAN POOR OR NO HEALTH CARE."
In other countries, yes.
I think it's a moral issue to give everyone a good Gin %26amp; Tonic. Excuse me while I go mix one.
Let`s put it this way, it is an immoral issue not to. http://www.cnn.com/2009/HEALTH/09/18/dea鈥?/a>
look at canada.
YES.
