Need advise on play dough, clay etc?

About a month ago I bought a few jars of soft stuff at ELC. The problem is when the stuff gets dry then the parts of a thing fall apart. If I make a car then later on the wheels and other small particles will fall off. Now I have promised my kid to find something better.

I have found Crayola Model Magic Coloured but it it is quite expensive

When I was a child I used to have a kind of a soft stuff which was reusable once I had it in my hands for some time. So I want to find a similar stuff or something when is dry will not fall apart.

Thanks for your advises!Need advise on play dough, clay etc?
The soft stuff which stays soft you had may have been plasticine
They just don't make things like they use to..

Have you tried making it yourself..would make it more fun for the kids knowing that they made it to play with...

salt, flour and some oil adding color if you want,or paint after you have made your item, bake at 180C, just add abit more water if starting to dry. ( paint before or after baking )Need advise on play dough, clay etc?
In the UK when I was at school we had plastercene (not sure how to spell it lol) it never dries out and you can play with it over and over.

When my son was small I had this problem as well and I was sick of spending a fortune on Play Dough so I used to make my own and store it in tubs (i made big pots) I got the recipe off the net and he loved it and it didn't dry out quickly. And because when you make it yourself you can involve your children and make weird and wonderful clolours and major bonus is its a fraction of the cost when you buy it :)
you could make ur own play dough it's very easy

flour

salt

oil

and water

my daughter loves itNeed advise on play dough, clay etc?
Well, if you really want to be creative, try using kneaded erasers. You have to stretch it and play with it for a few minutes to get it soft, but once it is, you could probably mold it into something. While you're molding it and pressing on it, it'll get pushed together and won't be as soft. It's worth a shot, I suppose. But otherwise I'd use play dough or clay.
When you were little chances are you were using playdough that was home made. Try looking online for a recipe. My mom was a teacher and used to make it all the time at home.
you are thinking of plastercine from when you were little, it dosent dry out. I buy it for my wee ones now because they likt to carry their creations about sometimes to show granny etc, and they never put the lid back on their playdough. 拢1.40 a pack. Crayola make it too, check out your locan newsagent.
Plasticine is a clay for kids that is reusable and doesn't dry. You can remold it at any time. That's probably what you used as a child. It's still made and should be available at craft stores or school supply stores.
plasticine/modelling clay sounds like what your looking for. Not sure where to buy but you can order from amazon.co.uk
