she was diagnosed with diabetes while pregnant with our first childMy wife is wondering if her having diabetes will affect her health if she decides to have another child?Yes, she can have another child and stay healthy ONLY IF she works hard and stays in excellent control before and during pregnancy. As long as she is under the care of a competant doctor/endocronologist and she uses a high risk ob/gyn who are both monetering her diabetes and pregnancy, she should be ok. I have diabetes since i'm 7 and I have 2 (adorable) kids ages 5 and 2. it's hard work, but it pays! the risks of getting pregnant with out of control diabetes are pretty bad, both for her and the fetus.
