Are doctors allowed to release information to parents without the child consent if the child is 16?

my parents want me to submit to drug testing. is it legal worldwide for doctors to tell parents everything about the child's medical health even if the child is 16 and requests that the doctor doesn't tell their parents???Are doctors allowed to release information to parents without the child consent if the child is 16?What in the H.E.Double hockey sticks does being 16 have to do with it?

Adulthood begins at Eighteen. Unless you go get emancipated.

Your parents do not want you doing dope because they do not want you being a dope.

The fact that you are giving thumbs down to weveryone who is not telling you what you want to hear proves my point.

You are a child, and as such need someone to do your thinking for you. Especially if you are high. Are doctors allowed to release information to parents without the child consent if the child is 16?
Depends on local laws. There is no global answer to this question. Generally, in the US, doctors are required to keep medical information confidential to everyone including parents after a certain age (I think 16 was the cutoff point, but not sure). Before that age, parents have a right to know the medical conditions of their children. Those who said "no matter what age" are incorrect. After all, should parents be kept in the dark about their 5 year-old child's medical conditions? I think not.

But to get an answer regarding your situation, find out what your local laws state.

Also, in some areas, you can purchase home drug test kits over the counter. No doctors need to get involved in that case. Are doctors allowed to release information to parents without the child consent if the child is 16?"worldwide"? lol

Every country has different standards as far as what information can be released to parents on their children. Heck, here in the US the standards vary from state to state.

That said, your parents cannot make you have a drug test especially if it is not medically necessary. I think they are just trying to scare you.

So, are you doing drugs?
Okay if you was even 12 and you did weed and you demanded the doctor tell nobody including parents he would keep it confidential so you got nothing to worry about. Are doctors allowed to release information to parents without the child consent if the child is 16?No, doctors must have a connection between their patients, under no circumstances can doctors tell any one else what a patient has told them in confidence.

You could take legal action if the doctor betrayed your trust

hope this helpsAre doctors allowed to release information to parents without the child consent if the child is 16?
No country gives minors control over their medical information. Your parents control until you're an adult.
Yes. It is perfectly legal, a 16 year old child is a minor. It would actually be illegal not to.Are doctors allowed to release information to parents without the child consent if the child is 16?
You will have to specify your country to get a real answer to this.

There is no "worldwide" answer...
Yes, I believe it is. The age of consent (Legal Age) is 18 in most countries. At 18 you are on your own.
Absolutely not, you are the patient and the doctor has to respect your privacy no matter what your age.
