Do you think songs like "Soldier" by Destiny's child glorifies thugs and makes young girls think those are the type of men they should look for and want to be with?
I mean look at the lyrics:
We like dem boys that be in the lac's leanin'{Leanin'}
Open their mouth their grill gleamin'{Gleamin'
Candy paint, keep that whip clean and {Clean and}
(They always be talkin' that country slang, we like)
They keep that beat that be in the back beatin'{Beatin'}
Eyesbe so low fomw the chief {chief and}
I love how he keep my body screamin' {Screamin'}
A rude boy that's good to me, wit street credibillity
IF his status ain't hood
I ain't checkin' for him
Betta be street if he lookin' at me
I need a soldier
That ain't scared to stand up for me
Known to carry big things
If you know what I mean
If his status ain't hood
I ain't checkin' for him
Betta be street if he looking at me
I need a soldier
Thay ain't scared to stand up for me
Gotta know to get dough
And he betta be street
Young girls look up to women like Beyonce, if Destiny's child is singing about "hood soldiers" and how they want them, young girls who look to them as role models will do the same. The reason I said "black girls" because the are black artists and young black people look up to black artists.
Dp you think it's music like this that keeps white people rich (owning music labels and making money of artists) and black people poor? (incouraging the hood mentality).|||I think media plays a big part.These artists make these type of songs and keep the thug images they have because that's the image they think will sell to young black America.And for the most part it does.And in turn it has made a lot of young men and women think that being a thug is what they need to be or who they need to date,because that's all they see in videos and hear in songs. TV plays a major part interpreting how young kids see the world.How can they strive to go to college,vote,make positive changes in their community,when all that seems to get attention now are thugs,rappers and videos "models".|||its part of it. another part is they dont see many alternatives. the black community shuns anybody whos black and doesnt stick to the stereotypes. if a young black girl was to out with a black guy that wasnt super thugged out or super churchy she and him would be made a laughing stock. blacks are great.|||AIDS is one of the most common diseases among Black people, more Black women have children out of wedlock and raise children as single mothers than other races.....
yet they idolize Drake, Trey Songz, Usher, and Lil Wayne who sing about sex constantly and call women female dogs...sad isnt it....|||YES.
They see good looking guys in videos with fancy cars , jewelry and throwing cash around like it's Christmas .
They confuse reality with that. Young guys get confused also into thinking that's what they are supposed to act like.|||I think that, whatever their race, women seek subconsciously a man who reminds them of their father. Since most fathers are abusive, then they feel attracted to abusive men, even though rationally they know it's wrong.|||Yes for some "girls" - but not a real SMART woman. Educated women like educated men,. Think about it; music doesn't always make you drawn to someone. I don't like men who are losers!|||That may be part of the problem, but I still think lack of a good male role model is the main cause.|||You can't say many young black girls! I'm 18 and I don't like bad boys that's not my style.|||probably for some people
Usher does not call females b-word. Do you even listen to him?|||That junk right there sure doesn't help!|||It's not just lyrics in a song but the fact that where a lot of them are at that's the only type of man they can find. Especially since the men in that society are taught that that's the cool and best thing to do. So since the men keep growing up thinking they need to be like that and don't have very many other role models to look up to, they grow up to become like the ones before them, and the women can't find or normally don't try to find an alternative to the "thug."|||I've noticed that most women (of all races, not sure about asians though) like bad boys and pursue them in their teens, however i've also noticed that with some black women they still pursue these type of boys well into their twenties whereas other races of women usually reconsider these type of boys, then ditch them for guys with better prospects in their late teens to early twenties..|||Dp you think it's music like this that keeps white people rich (owning music labels and making money of artists) and black people poor? (incouraging the hood mentality).
Sure, like always, lets blame white people. Don't put the blame it on the men who run around like violent, oversexed apes and the girls who love them and see them as their role models because that's all they know. Don't blame the artists who wrote songs like that, (I can almost guarantee 100%, it was probably a black guy who wrote it). Don't blame the women who have a choice, but still sing songs like that and glorify that image but obviously aren't smart enought to know better. So yes, most of the problems in your own community go back to you all, not white people. More specifically black men. Doesn't anyone else get tired of blaming whitey? Why are you the only people who can't take full responsibility for your OWN actions and communities. White people are not getting rich off of that-black celebrities are. At best, a damn Jew.
