My child has left hand dominance. he is 2 years and 5 months old. how to make him right sided to eat and write?

He understands when i guide him to use right hand, but later goes back to the same left.Is it ok to change him at this age?

He is very active and sometimes hyperactive. He is underweight too.He doesn't put on adequate weight since his 1st month onwards. But doesn't have any health problems. Is any body's child like this? Please help?My child has left hand dominance. he is 2 years and 5 months old. how to make him right sided to eat and write? Why on earth would you want to make him right-handed? handedness is genetic, about 75% of the worlds population are right-handed, and 25% are left-handed (a small proportion of which are genuiniely ambidextrous).

I have a left-handed friend who was "taught" to write with her right hand by some very strict nuns at her primary school around 30 years ago. She now uses her right hand to write, but her writing is very slow, and she is a very jumpy person and lacks confidence.

With regards to your sons weight, is he actually underweight according to a growth chart, or is he just in one of the lower centiles? He sounds healthy to me.My child has left hand dominance. he is 2 years and 5 months old. how to make him right sided to eat and write?
You can't make him righthanded if he's lefthanded, and it is cruel to try. How would you like to be forced to use your left hand?My child has left hand dominance. he is 2 years and 5 months old. how to make him right sided to eat and write? Why do you want to change his handedness?

I don't know what era you're living in, but that barbaric practise of forcing a child to write with the right hand went out of favour in the 1920's.

And you can't do that, by the way. You can force him to under threat of punishment, but he'll always be left-handed even if he learns to use his right.

I don't know about the other issues. Perhaps you should see a paediatrician. You know. Someone with a medical degree in treating children?
why would you want to change which hand he uses?

that makes no senseMy child has left hand dominance. he is 2 years and 5 months old. how to make him right sided to eat and write? If you try to change what hand he uses for writing and eating you will just confuse him. I wouldn't even try. He will use whichever hand HE wants regardless of what u 'guide' him to do.My child has left hand dominance. he is 2 years and 5 months old. how to make him right sided to eat and write?
Seriously? Why on earth would you want to change that? Think yourself very lucky that you have nothing more serious to worry about.

Just let him get on with it.
I went to school with a girl who's parents forced her to use her right hand. %26amp; she wound up with a stutter from it...i agree thast life it self would be much easier for him if he was born right handed but he wasn't.My child has left hand dominance. he is 2 years and 5 months old. how to make him right sided to eat and write?
why are you trying to make him right handed? i thought that practice went out a few centuries ago... if he is left handed just let him be left handed... all you will do by trying to change him is frustrate both him and yourself
Leave him alone!! There's nothing wrong with being left-handed!
Why does it matter if he is LEFT or Right handed?

If he has the correct coordination for his age then there really isn't a problem here. Why on earth would you force you son to right handed when he clearly is left. That is almost mean to do so and all you are going to to is cause him to be frustrated and feel inadequate.

You should embrace who ever your child is, right or left handed, full of Energy or mellow and calm. You should guide him and teach him how to use his energy for good. Like helping you with chores or picking up toys. You can make a game out of, Like who can do it the fastest. Or making bed, that takes up lots of energy. Kids love to help and he'll get out some of his energy.
Nothing bad is going to come out of him being left handed. Its not a handy cap or anything. Were not freaks. What if your child really had something wrong with him??
Being left handed is not evil (as some cultures believe).

So let your child be left handed.

To force him to be right handed is cruel.
You can do terrible damage to his speech development and motor development by trying to change his dominance. Leave it alone. What you are doing leads to brain confusion and is harmful. There is nothing wrong with being left handed. it is certainly better than having trouble learning to read, write, and speak!
