That's a cheap shot for keeping tort unchecked. I recall the foolish old lady who was awarded $millions for spilling hot coffee on herself. With just an ounce of prevention, this would not have happened. Certainly McDonald's should not be required to offer instructions on how to drink hot coffee. it is fairly obvious that if you're careless or stupid, you will get burnt.

A medical mistake like that is a trajedy, but it shouldn't be a lottery win for the family. Michael Jackson died from a medical mistake. Should his rich family be made even richer all of a sudden?

tort reform is a joke it's not going to save a dime, in my county there is a Doctor who right now has 16 malpractice cases over his head. some times there really are bad doctors.
I see nothing wrong with that. In fact that is one of the things already in the health care bill. Republicans claim that law suits are one of the things driving up costs.
