I recommend purchasing your inter-island flights ahead of time. I also recommend going with one of the smaller, local air carriers (see links below). Last time I was in Hawaii it cost me only $39 for an inter-island flight - way cheaper than on Hawaiian Airlines.



With the smaller carriers, just purchase a ticket for the last flight of the day. If you want to leave sooner, just show up at the airport and they can usually get you on an earlier flight. It's like a bus pass! Usually there isn't a fee, but be sure and check with the carrier.

P.S. You should try scuba diving while you're in Hawaii. I have seen interisland fares for as much as $129 pp each way! If you know when you are going to travel, buy ahead of time to save money. When I did that in 2007, I booked all of the flights in advance on Hawaiian Airlines. The advantage is that you can book the whole itinerary as a multi-destination trip (just click on the check box on the home page). That's usually a better price than you can get on separate flights. Better still, you might be able to fly from one island to another then home from the second island without flying back to the first one. That saves both time and money.

I'm a strong believer in it. I think that the love is only better if you can respect eachother for everything. I wouldn't care what religion the guy I marry has, so long as he's a good person. I think that the more we become friends with eachother, the less discrimination there will be.

It can be done, I know people who have done it, but there is always going to be conflicts. Most of the conflicts are external to the couple, i.e., family beliefs and friends telling them what is right or wrong.

Clearly, though, it could just as easily be a women, or a white person, or chinese person, or hispanic, etc.



But yes, generally people call half-black, half-white people black. Though there are some instances where the person looks more white, then they are called white. I have not called him black once, and I correct anyone I hear who does. I think it has more to do with appearance, than background. For instance, someone who tans too much can be mistaken for a light-skinned black person.

That said, what we do understand is that he is half white and that half is what helped him gain the acceptance he needed. It could also be argued that Obama was able to climb this far and high due to his superior white genes helping out. While his black side represented the change of his platform, the radical side. In a way Obama was lucky. He happened to be at the right place, the right time. If it wasn't for the monster of a mess that Bush made, I'd bet my life, there would be no Obama today. So you can all really thank George Bush.



And here's another thought, it helped Obama that he isn't what we normally associate with black attitudes. Think Jesse Jackson's hot headedness to Obama's cool and calm approach.

So it would have been a far greater achievement (and astonishment) if someone either very pro-black or with fully black genes won. Perhaps people such as Oprah. As you saw with Jesse Jackson, he never stood a real chance at ever becoming accepted when he tried to run for Presidency. Part of his problem was (regardless if he had white in him or not), he was/is much too pro-black and radical to be taken seriously.



So in answer to your question. We would of course see that thief as a black at first glance. But you cannot truly use that kind of example to justify or compare. It is a lot more complicated than that. As you should be more than aware. Namely that just because we now have a "black" President in the White House, it doesn't mean that will stop what you think is racism.



Besides there's also a theory that some whites voted for Obama just to see his downfall. I'm thinking those whites are not trying to link him to the white race anytime soon.
